Haley Health Vest, DO
Hospice and Palliative Care
Bio & Overview
Haley Vest, DO, is a hospice and palliative medicine physician who cares for patients with serious illnesses, including cancer and heart failure.
She works closely with patients and families to navigate challenges and provides complex symptom management and advanced care planning.
Dr. Vest grew up in Richmond and earned her medical degree from Lake Erie College of Medicine. She completed her family medicine residency at University Hospitals in Westlake, Ohio, and her hospice and palliative medicine fellowship at Cleveland Clinic. She remained at Cleveland Clinic, where she provided inpatient and outpatient palliative care, until joining UVA Health.
“I approach patients as whole and unique individuals who are more than their disease,” she says. “My goal is to always come from a place of curiosity to better understand and respect a patient’s experience. I believe the best care is collaborative and involves not only the physician and patient but the patient’s support system and the rest of their healthcare team.”
