Jamie Escanellas, MD, is a cardiologist at UVA Specialty Care Augusta. Born in Puerto Rico, Dr. Escanellas attended Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Florida, and earned his medical degree from the Ponce School of Medicine in Ponce, Puerto Rico. He completed his residency and a fellowship in cardiology at the San Juan VA Medical Center in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Following his fellowship he moved to Virginia and joined the staff at Blue Ridge Cardiology and Augusta Health. He joined UVA Physicians Group in 2008. Dr. Escanellas is married with two children.
