Bio & Overview
Jeffrey Jenkins, MD, is the program director of the UVA Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Residency Training Program and director of the department’s electrodiagnostic laboratory. Dr. Jenkins specializes in electrodiagnostic medicine, using specialized nerve testing to diagnose and evaluate neuropathy, nerve entrapment syndromes and nerve injuries.
A Northern Virginia native, Dr. Jenkins attended Columbia University in New York City and the Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C. He arrived at UVA in 1998 to pursue residency training, made a home in Charlottesville, and joined the department faculty in 2002.
Dr. Jenkins is very active in medical education at UVA. He currently serves as vice chair of the UVA School of Medicine Graduate Medical Education Committee, and he was honored with the UVA Medical Center Master Educator Award in 2020.
