Dr. Carter, who always dreamed of becoming a doctor, is passionate about helping people and enjoys connecting with her patients.
“I am collaborative, approachable, kind, and a good listener,” Dr. Carter says. “I am also meticulous, with attention to all details.”
A native of the Chicago suburbs, Dr. Carter earned her bachelor’s degree from Princeton University, where she studied health policy, completed her pre-med requirements, and ran varsity track – primarily the 800-meter race.

She also served as an attending physician on Brigham and Women’s Inpatient Integrated Teaching Unit, and was assistant program director for the hospital’s Internal Medicine Residency Program.
Committed to innovation in healthcare, Dr. Carter has served in multiple clinical leadership roles. As founding medical director of the Cancer Diagnostic Service at Dana-Farber/Brigham and Women’s Cancer Center, she established a clinic for patients presenting with signs or symptoms of cancer but no definitive diagnosis.
Most recently, she has worked for Devoted Health, where she established and launched several innovative clinical programs for members and developed health education content.
