Bio & Overview

Nancy Harrison, MSNA, CRNA, is a certified registered nurse anesthetist. She provides anesthesia care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.

She also teaches essential skills to nursing and medical students, serves as a preceptor to student registered nurse anesthetists, and mentors ICU nurses looking to become nurse anesthetists.

Harrison earned her bachelor of science in nursing from the University of South Alabama and her master of science in nurse anesthesia from Virginia Commonwealth University.

Before joining UVA Health in 2014, Nancy worked in private practice hospital-based settings and outpatient surgery. She was also an Army nurse anesthetist in military facilities and the Veterans Health Administration.

Harrison volunteers with Remote Area Medical, Richmond Habitat for Humanity, and several surgical mission teams providing much-needed anesthesia services in the Philippines, Bolivia, Kenya, and Honduras.

In her spare time, she enjoys RV camping, astronomy, hiking, yoga, sailing, and travel. She has an adult son and two cats.
