Naomi E Howard, PNP

Naomi Howard, MSN, is a pediatric nurse practitioner in the pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) at UVA Health Children's. She is part of a team that manages the care of young patients after heart surgery and those who need treatment for a variety of cardiac conditions.

Born in British Colombia, Canada, Howard received her undergraduate degree from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. She then spent a year abroad in Isreal studying at Ben-Gurion University before coming to Virginia to pursue her graduate degree at UVA.

After determining that pediatric cardiology is her main interest, Howard worked in this field at Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center in Richmond and Levine Children's Hospital in Charlotte, North Carolina, before returning once again to UVA Health Children's in 2015 to take on her current role.

Outside of her clinical duties, Howard enjoys the outdoors, gardening, hiking, and spending time with family.
