Nassib F Abou Heidar, MD

Nassib Abou Heidar, MD, is a urologic oncologist who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of cancers affecting the urinary tract and the male reproductive organs, including bladder, kidney, and prostate cancers.

“I always take my time to understand each patient’s unique priorities and experiences so we can work together to formulate an individualized management plan,” he says.

Dr. Heidar was born to an immigrant family in Boston and raised in Beirut, Lebanon, where he was part of a tight-knit community that valued compassion and altruism.

He earned an undergraduate degree in chemistry and attended medical school at American University of Beirut, where he also completed his residencies in general surgery and genitourinary surgery and renal transplantation. While studying in Beirut, he provided care to patients from a wide variety of demographics and ethnicities, which instilled in him a passion for equitable medical care.

Dr. Heidar completed his fellowship in urologic oncology at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center in Buffalo, New York.

“The main reason I wanted to be a doctor is to make a positive impact in people’s lives,” he says. “I am blessed to be able to wake up every day knowing that the day is a new chance to help more people.”

In his free time, he enjoys swimming, basketball, reading, and playing the piano.
