Patrick McKeegan, FNP, is a family nurse practitioner who specializes in caring for older adults.
“I try to approach patients in a holistic way and think about how an untold number of life events shaped their current health,” he says. “I’m interested in their story.”
McKeegan was born and raised in Staunton, where he spent most of his free time riding his bike on the Valley’s beautiful country roads. From a young age, he was fascinated by the human body and life sciences.
He began his healthcare career as a certified nursing assistant in a long-term nursing facility. He studied nursing at George Mason University and spent five years working as a staff and travel nurse in emergency departments. He earned his family nurse practitioner degree at UVA Health.
