Bio & Overview
P. Mike Marshall grew up in the Shenandoah Valley and graduated from Eastern Mennonite college with a bachelors in nursing. While working in critical care he returned to school, obtaining a master's degree from the University of Virginia. He then decided to move into nursing administration and obtained a PhD from the University of Virginia. While working in nursing administration, he realized that his passion was direct patient care, so he returned to school to obtain a post-masters certificate as an adult nurse practitioner from James Madison University in 2008.
Marshall worked at the University of Virginia from 1990 until 2012 in both clinical and administrative roles. In 2012 he took a position at Augusta Health to be closer to his home. In 2016, he returned to the University of Virginia to work with Christiana Brenin, MD, and Patrick Dillon, MD, as part of the breast malignancy team.
Outside of work, Marshall keeps busy with family and friends and enjoys anything that gets him outside, including running, biking, hiking or spending time on the family farm.
