Brandon Schartz, MD, is an anesthesiologist who has been caring for patients in and around Charlottesville since 2014. He joined the team at UVA Health in September, 2022.
The son of elementary school teachers, Dr. Schartz grew up in rural Oklahoma. He received his medical degree and completed his anesthesiology residency at The Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland.
In the operating room, Dr. Schartz says he strives “to make the decisions I would want for my family.” As an educator, he is committed to developing creative ways to engage anesthesiology residents and advance their training.
Dr. Schartz and his wife have four children who, he says, “bring new adventures every morning."
