Bio & Overview

Samuel Cross, MD, is a general pediatrician who sees children for well visits, school and sports physicals, ADHD, and other general pediatric conditions. 

Dr. Cross was born and raised in Richmond. He attended University of Virginia for his undergraduate degree, medical school and residency. In between, he lived and worked in Siavonga, Zambia, where he managed a commercial fishing company. He started at UVA Augusta Pediatrics in 2020. 

He and his wife, Shelby, have four boys (Porter, Milo, Charlie, and Shepard). Most of his life outside of work involves spending time with his family.

Dr. Cross is absolutely wonderful! We are very thankful to have him as our son's pediatrician. He always makes our son feel comfortable as well as listened to. He takes the time to know his patients well, talks to them instead of around so they are included in their care.

Dr. Cross is the best physician I have experienced at UVA Health. He gets to know his patients on a personal level and remembers their interests, activities, family, etc. It is clear he genuinely cares. He listens to both parent and child and always tries to make both feel comfortable and heard. I can't say enough kind things about him.
