Shelby T Cross, FNP

Shelby Cross, FNP, MSN, RN, has worked as a nurse practitioner in pediatric cardiology at UVA since 2014. She specializes in the care of patients with heart failure or who have received a heart transplant. In addition to working as a transplant coordinator, she also sees general cardiology patients for evaluation of heart conditions such as murmurs, chest pain, and syncope.

Shelby grew up in Maryland and attended UVA for her bachelor of science in nursing (BSN) degree. After graduation, she worked on the pediatric transplant unit at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C. She continued working as a nurse while pursuing her master of science in nursing at Georgetown. She returned to UVA after completing her master’s degree.

Shelby’s husband completed his residency training at UVA and is a pediatrician at Augusta Pediatrics. With 4 young boys, Shelby says, “All of my time outside of work is spent with my family, mostly playing outdoors.”
