Bio & Overview

Tamara Pringle, MD, in an obstetrician/gynecologist who provides compassionate, comprehensive care for women at every stage of life.

She earned her undergraduate degree in religious studies with a concentration in biomedical ethics from the University of Virginia. She received her medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia (now the VCU School of Medicine), where she also completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology. After nearly two decades of practice in Richmond, she returned to Charlottesville to continue serving patients in a community she loves.

Her care includes guiding patients through their first gynecologic visit, helping them choose the most suitable form of contraception, and evaluating and treating infertility. She provides care for conditions such as abnormal uterine bleeding, sexual health concerns, and abnormal Pap smear results. She is a member of the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT).

Dr. Pringle manages both low- and high-risk pregnancies, including patients considering a vaginal delivery after a previous Caesarean section.

“Caring for women during pregnancy is a great honor and an opportunity to share my knowledge and experience,” she says. “My goal is to provide the best obstetric care to ensure a safe and healthy pregnancy.”

Outside of medicine, Dr. Pringle enjoys relaxing with her family, skiing, hiking, and traveling. She is also an active member of the Wintergreen Ski Patrol. Dr. Pringle and her husband have three children and a Bernedoodle. As a family, they spend a lot of time on the soccer field and love cheering for Arsenal and the Washington Commanders.

Dr Pringle listened to my concerns and answered all my questions (at 38 weeks I had a lot of things to say) she was kind and professional.

Dr Pringle is amazing. She listens and actually tries to help and didnt shut me down like another care provider.

When discussing induction, mentioned that the ideal time to induce would have been at 39 weeks (which had already passed for me at the time of this appointment). I'm a little frustrated in general that this wasn't discussed with me prior to this appointment. Overall, this provider seems irritated that my birth plan included so many things that aren't "recommended" yet no provider has taken the time to bring up these things/educate me.

Doctor appeared to be in a rush, talk very fast and gave very short answers with very little to no explanation. It did not look like she read my file before my visit, as she did not respond any of the questions or concerns that were mentioned in my file.
