William N. Timmins, MD, is an associate professor of medicine specializing in geriatrics and palliative care. He grew up in Maryland and spent time studying abroad in Switzerland before attending Stanford University, where he received his undergraduate degree. Timmins went to medical school at University of California at San Diego School of Medicine and completed his residency training at University of California San Diego Medical Center.
After five years in private practice as a family physician followed by 14 years practicing hospice and palliative medicine, Timmins relocated to Charlottesville and joined the faculty at UVA.
