-
I was born and raised in Toledo, Ohio. I attended undergrad at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio and received my BSN. I then attended graduate school at UVA and obtained my MSN as an acute care nurse practitioner.
Most of my nursing career has been in neuroscience. I worked as a staff nurse and nurse practitioner in the neuro ICU for many years. My certifications include: critical care nursing (CCRN), neuroscience nursing (CNRN), advanced cardiac life support and a basic life support instructor. I started at UVA as a staff nurse in 2004 and became a nurse practitioner here in 2010. I was a nurse for five years before I moved to Charlottesville. I now work in the Department of Neurology with an emphasis in movement disorders.
I am married and have one daughter. In my spare time, I volunteer at The Haven, Charlottesville’s day shelter for the homeless. I also enjoy spending time with my family, practicing Kung Fu and Tai Chi, reading, watching football, laughing, baking (vegan), traveling and taking naps.
