Biography

Brynne Sullivan, MD, is an assistant professor of pediatrics in the Division of Neonatology. She sees patients in the NICU but spends the majority of her time on clinical research, focusing on developing and testing predictive analytics for early warning of infection in premature infants.

Dr. Sullivan was born and raised in Richmond. Her father was a professor at Virginia Commonwealth University in the Department of Medicine, Division of Infectious Disease, with a research career in microbiology. Her mother was a nurse who stayed home and raised her and her two younger siblings. Dr. Sullivan completed her undergraduate degree at Washington and Lee University, where she competed on the varsity equestrian team and majored in biology. She went to medical school at UVA and has lived in Charlottesville ever since, completing her pediatric residency and neonatology fellowship here at UVA.
