Biography

An interventional radiologist, Dr. Douglas Markert has more than 18 years of experience performing minimally invasive image-guided surgical techniques to treat a wide range of vascular conditions. His specialties include the treatment of venous and arterial vascular disease, aneurysms and varicose veins. 

He is board-certified in diagnostic radiology and has a Certificate of Added Qualifications in Vascular and Interventional Radiology. Dr. Markert has been listed as a “Top Doctor” in vascular and interventional radiology consistently by both Northern Virginia Magazine and Washington Magazine. He serves in various leadership roles at Novant Prince William and Haymarket hospitals. He is also a member of numerous prestigious societies, including: The American College of Radiology (and its Virginia Chapter), The Society of Interventional Radiology, The American Roentgen Ray Society and The Radiological Society of North America. 

Dr. Markert received his medical degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School, and completed a residency in diagnostic radiology, as well as a fellowship in interventional radiology, at the University of Maryland Medical System.
