Elisa Kucia, MD, is a neurosurgeon who specializes in caring for patients with conditions of the spine, including chronic neck and back pain, cervical and lumbar spinal stenosis, herniated disc and degenerative disc disease. She received her medical degree at UVA and went on to complete both a Phoenix Integrated Surgical Residency and a general surgery internship at the University of Arizona. Kucia then pursued two fellowships, one in pediatric neurosurgery at the University of Colorado Children’s Hospital Colorado and another in complex spine surgery at the Barrow Neurological Institute at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona.
A member of the American Academy of Neurological Surgery and the Congress of Neurological Surgeons, Kucia worked as a neurosurgeon at both St. Joseph Mercy in Ann Arbor, Michigan and the Centra Medical Neurosurgery Center in Lynchburg before joining the team at UVA Health.
In her free time, Kucia enjoys running, hiking and spending time with her husband and three young children.
