Gauri Raval, MD, was born and raised in Richmond and completed her undergraduate degree in human biology and foreign affairs at the University of Virginia. She attended UVA School of Medicine, and completed her pediatric training at Columbia University. She also holds a master’s degree in public health from Johns Hopkins University.
Dr. Raval joined the faculty in General Pediatrics at UVA in 2016. She works primarily at UVA Pediatrics Northridge, where she enjoys practicing primary care and building long-term relationships with families. She also helps train residents at UVA Pediatrics and attends on the newborn medicine devices. Dr. Raval is a faculty mentor for the Generalist Scholars Program, a scholarship program and academic curriculum for students pursuing careers in generalist medicine. Her academic interests are in global and public health, child mental health, health disparities and medical education.
Outside of work, Dr. Raval enjoys spending time with family and friends, gardening, Zumba®, yoga, hiking, reading and travel.
