Jennifer Eccles grew up in Alexandria and graduated from Virginia Tech with a bachelor’s in biology. She then moved to Las Vegas, and after spending several years coordinating cancer clinical trials, she decided to return to school to become a physician assistant. She attended Touro University Nevada and graduated with a master’s in physician assistant studies in 2013.
Wishing to stay in clinical research, Ms. Eccles took a position at the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health in Las Vegas, and worked primarily with patients with neurodegenerative diseases. She then decided to return to Virginia and joined UVA in 2015 to focus again in cancer care and research. She now works in the GU medical oncology clinic with Robert Dreicer, MD, and the melanoma and head and neck clinics with Elizabeth Gaughan, MD.
Outside of work, Ms. Eccles keeps busy with her young daughter and is active in her church community.
