Kenneth Greer, MD, was born and raised in Virginia and attended Washington and Lee University and the UVA School of Medicine. He trained in internal medicine at the University of Rochester, then joined the U.S. Navy Medical Corps as a lieutenant in 1969. He was discharged as a lieutenant commander two years later. He completed his dermatology residency at UVA and joined the faculty as an assistant professor of dermatology in 1974. He was promoted to professor in 1980 and chaired the department from 1993 to 2008. Dr. Greer is married and has five grown children.
