Dr. Kerry Lanigan was born and raised in Long Island, New York. She studied Irish language and culture at the University of Notre Dame, and earned a B.S. in preprofessional studies. After graduation, she attended Georgetown University School of Medicine.
Dr. Lanigan trained at Georgetown University Hospital, where she completed an internship and residency in internal medicine in 2014. She then worked as a hospitalist for Summit Medical Group in New Jersey. She joined UVA in September 2016.
Outside of work, Dr. Lanigan enjoys exploring cultural activities in Charlottesville. She is also a Notre Dame football fan and plays piano when the mood strikes.
