Kimberly Drewry was born and raised in Seattle, but attended school in England for five years (grades 7-11). As an undergraduate at the Cornish Institute of Allied Arts in Seattle, she studied early music and played the lute. She became a registered nurse in 1983, earning an associate degree in nursing from Everett Community College.
In 1983, Ms. Drewry joined the RN intern program at UVA. During her career at UVA she received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing. She then went to the Medical College of Virginia (now VCU) for her post-master’s certification as a family nurse practitioner.
She has been interested in oncology from the beginning of her training, and is an advanced oncology certified nurse practitioner with the Breast Care Program at UVA Cancer Center. She is certified as a breast care nurse by the Oncology Nursing Society. She also serves as the chair of the Professional Development Committee’s mentorship work group.
Ms. Drewry lives on a small farm where she and her husband enjoy gardening and taking care of horses, geese, ducks, chickens and guinea hens. They love to hike and enjoy being out in nature.
