Krishi Peddada, MD, is the retina fellow in the UVA Department of Ophthalmology. He works to preserve the sight of patients who have macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy. He performs surgery on patients with retinal detachments, macular holes, epiretinal membranes, and many other conditions of the retina or vitreous. He also takes care of patients in the eye tumor clinic and uveitis clinic. The eye tumor clinic is the only clinic of its kind in the state of Virginia and draws patients from neighboring states.
Dr. Peddada was born and raised in Cupertino, California, in the heart of the Silicon Valley to parents who worked in high-tech. He did a combined BS/MD program at Saint Louis University, majoring in biomedical engineering as an undergraduate. Residency training took him east, where he completed his training in ophthalmology at Drexel University in Philadelphia and Sinai Hospital in Baltimore. He started at UVA in July 2020 as the retina fellow.
He and his wife love to explore new restaurants in Charlottesville. They also love exploring new hikes in the nearby Blue Ridge Mountains.
