Laura DuBose, RN, MSN, AG-ACNP, is a certified acute care nurse practitioner who cares for complex patients in the Nerancy Neuro Intensive Care Unit (NNICU). Her clinical interests include traumatic brain injury and subarachnoid hemorrhage and she is involved in research investigating intracranial hemorrhage.
Born and raised in Lynchburg, DuBose received her first nursing degree from Sentara Norfolk General Hospital School of Nursing before graduating magna cum laude from Liberty University in Lynchburg with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. DuBose continued her training, pursuing a graduate nursing degree with a focus on adult acute care at University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, Texas.
She began her critical care nursing career at one of the largest trauma centers in the country, Memorial Hermann Hospital at The Texas Medical Center in Houston, Texas. She started her position at UVA in 2018.
DuBose is a member of the American Association of Critical Care Nurses and the American Association of Neuroscience Nurses. She has an interest in the performing arts, enjoys hiking and is passionate about rescuing animals. She lives in Charlottesville with her two rescue dogs, Lucy and Ethel.
