Lynne McElroy Wold is a board-certified family nurse practitioner. She began her career in dermatology in 2004 and joined UVA after many years in private practice in the Richmond area. She treats both adults and children with a wide range of diseases of the skin, hair and nails, including acne, psoriasis, eczema, and skin cancer. She especially enjoys the relationships she develops over time with her patients and their families.
Before 2004, Lynne worked as an NP in internal medicine, family practice and pediatrics and held an additional certification as a diabetes educator. She completed her undergraduate work, magna cum laude, at Clemson University and was a member of Sigma Theta Tau National Honor Society. She completed her master’s degree in nursing, summa cum laude, from Virginia Commonwealth University, concentrating as a family nurse practitioner. She is a member of the Virginia Council of Nurse Practitioners and Christian Medical and Dental Association. She has served as adjunct faculty in the graduate schools of Old Dominion University and South University.
Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, Lynne is married and enjoys cycling, adventure sports, music, traveling and writing. She also enjoys discovering new wines, especially Virginia wines.
