Martha Thomas, MS, is a genetic counselor who sees pediatric and adult patients who have or who are at risk of having a genetic predisposition to developing cancer, including patients with Li-Fraumeni Syndrome.
In Virginia most of her life, Thomas attended UVA for her undergraduate degree. She then went on to get a master’s degree in genetic counseling from VCU Health System. After some time working in San Antonio, Texas, Thomas returned to Charlottesville and worked at Martha Jefferson Hospital prior to coming to UVA in 2015. She also served as the Virginia Association of Genetic Counselors president from 2017-2019.
In her free time, Thomas enjoys the local food scene in Charlottesville and taking hikes with friends, family and her dog, Jackson. She also rings hand bells in her church's hand bell choir and is an active UVA alum.
