Mary Voelmle, FNP, CDE, is a family nurse practitioner and certified diabetes educator. She has spent her clinical career implementing diabetes technology into clinical practice and researching new medications and devices, such as the artificial pancreas, to improve the lives of people with diabetes. She is committed to relieving the burden of type I diabetes through the use of technology and education.
Originally from Charlottesville, Voelmle received her Master of Science in Nursing with a Family Nurse Practitioner specialization from Regis University in Colorado. She then spent the first 16 years of her nursing career at the Barbara Davis Center for Diabetes at the University of Colorado.
In her free time, Voelmle enjoys spending time with her husband and three children, hiking, skiing, playing tennis and watching UVA basketball.
