Biography

Matthew J. Barrett is an Associate Professor of Neurology. He received his medical degree from the University of Virginia. Following neurology residency at the University of Virginia, he completed a fellowship in movement disorders at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City. During his fellowship, he earned a Master’s of Science in Clinical Research Methods from Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Barrett sees patients with Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders, as well as patients with cognitive disorders. Currently he is focused on understanding genetic factors that influence the variability of cognitive and psychiatric symptoms in Parkinson disease.
