Meghan Gaare, MD, MPH, is an assistant professor of psychiatry, specializing in general child and adolescent psychiatry.
Gaare grew up in Maryland and Virginia, and majored in psychology as an undergraduate at Stanford University in California. After graduating from UVA School of Medicine, she completed her residency in psychiatry at Johns Hopkins Hospital and earned a master of public health degree from Harvard University School of Public Health, focusing on management and quality.
After completing a fellowship in eating disorders through University of Maryland at the Center for Eating Disorders at Sheppard Pratt, Gaare returned to Charlottesville to complete a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at the University of Virginia in 2016. She stayed on after completing her fellowship as faculty in the department.
In her free time, Gaare enjoys spending time with family, hiking, and playing tennis.
