Michelle "Shelly" Post, MS, PA-C, is a certified physician assistant who cares for patients who need orthopedic care. This includes assisting during surgery for sports injuries, such as ACL reconstruction, rotator cuff repair, meniscus repair and more. She also provides pre- and post-operative surgical care and diagnostic evaluation and treatment. She has a particular interest and advanced training in ultrasound-guided procedures and injections.
Post attended UVA, where she graduated cum laude with a double major in kinesiology and biology, while volunteering with the Charlottesville-Albemarle Rescue Squad. She received her Master of Physician Assistant Sciences from George Washington University in Washington, D.C. Here, she again rose to the top of her class, graduating as valedictorian in 2007. Post completed PA surgical residency training at Yale University and Norwalk Hospital in Norwalk, Connecticut. She returned to UVA in 2016.
