Molly Flannagan, MD, is a surgeon who specializes in treating critically ill and injured patients, and a broad range of general surgical needs such as hernia and gallbladder disease. Beyond her clinical practice, she is associate program director for the general surgery residency program and loves being involved in training the next generation of surgeons.
Dr. Flannagan was raised in Florida and Goochland, Virginia. After completing medical school at Virginia Commonwealth University, she went to New York for her general surgery training, and came back to VCU for her critical care fellowship training. After four years at Cleveland Clinic, she came back to central Virginia to join UVA in 2020.
She enjoys spending her free time with her husband, son, and their Labrador mix. She enjoys cooking, gardening, hiking and reading.
