Biography

Renzo Figari Jordan, MD, is a fellowship-trained neurologist. He specializes in caring for patients who have a movement or functional neurological disorder, including essential tremor, hemifacial spasm, Huntington's disease, Lewy body dementia, Parkinson's, atypical Parkinsonism, and focal and generalized dystonia.

Dr. Figari Jordan has earned gold and silver awards for Best Bedside Manner by OurHealth magazine, and he brings extensive experience with the following treatments:

  • Deep brain stimulation to treat tremors and other symptoms caused by movement disorders like Parkinson’s disease.

  • Focused ultrasound for Parkinson’s and essential tremors that don’t benefit from medication.

  • Chemodenervation/Botulinum toxin injections to reduce muscle activity caused by movement disorders such as dystonia, tremor and hemifacial spasm.

Born and raised in Lima, Peru, Dr. Figari Jordan completed medical school in Lima. He completed residency training at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, where he served as chief neurology resident in 2010-11. He completed fellowship training at University of Maryland in Baltimore. In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Figari Jordan takes a leading role in educating fellows and residents to foster the next generation of neurologists.

Dr. Figari Jordan enjoys outdoor sports, hiking and spending time with his wife and two daughters.
