Suzanne Waters, MSN, RN, FNP, APRN B-C, is a board-certified family nurse practitioner with a lengthy nursing career that spans four decades. She has provided advanced nursing care to patients in a variety of settings, including primary care clinics and the emergency room.
Waters is the lead interventional cardiology nurse practitioner at UVA. In this role, she manages the nursing care for patients with heart conditions ranging from coronary artery disease and heart rhythm disorders to congenital and valvular heart disease.
Waters received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Russell Sage College in Troy, New York. She completed a Master of Science in Nursing Family Nurse Practitioner at Pace University in New York.
She has worked as the chair of the Government Relations Committee. In addition, she has served as the director of Department Nursing Education and as a faculty member at a graduate nursing program in Hawaii. Waters was director of professional development at Vassar Medical Center in New York and at Hawaii Pacific Health. She also served as clinical instructor for the graduate nurse practitioner program at the University of Hawaii in Honolulu. Waters is on the leadership committee of the Virginia (Piedmont) Chapter of Nurse Practitioners.
