Wendi Betting, MS, LGC, is a genetic counselor at UVA Cancer Center. Wendi works with patients who have or who are at risk of having a genetic predisposition to developing cancer. She works with each patient to help them understand their risk for cancer and if they may be an appropriate candidate for genetic testing. For patients who may benefit from genetic testing, Wendi helps them understand the testing process, pros and cons of testing, and what the results mean for them and their family.
Wendi was born in Virginia and grew up in Florida. She received her undergraduate degree from Washington and Lee University and earned a master’s degree in genetic counseling from the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center UT Health Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences. She began working at UVA in 2020.
In her free time, Wendi enjoys spending time outdoors and visiting local restaurants.
