Kevin D. Stocker, MD, is a board-certified OB/GYN and a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. As the lead physician for UVA Obstetrics & Gynecology in Culpeper, he specializes in the full scope of women’s health, caring for women from the teenage years, through the reproductive years, into menopause and beyond. He is particularly interested in minimally invasive surgical techniques, and performs robotic surgeries at UVA Haymarket Medical Center.
Raised in a military family, Dr. Stocker has lived all over the world. He obtained his medical degree at UVA School of Medicine and completed his residency training at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Magee-Womens Hospital. In 2016, after 20 years of practice in Pittsburgh, Dr. Stocker returned to UVA.
In his free time, Dr. Stocker enjoys taking care of his two hound dogs, hiking and kayaking.

I'm doctor Kevin Stocker and I am a practicing obstetrician gynecologists. I'm employed by UVA and I work in the Culpeper office. I decide to become an OB doc because I noticed that of all the specialities OB is one of the few where you see people through every stage of life and there's a dignity in taking care of people all the way through human life and to me there's no greater honor than when a patient comes to you either for prenatal care with a health problem that says help me help me have a healthy baby or help me take care of this problem. I think that's the best thing in the world. I think what you have to remember as a doctor when a patient comes to you for prenatal care she saying to you will you help me have a healthy baby or what do I need to do to have a healthy baby? I'm not sure everybody appreciates but twenty three years ago most surgery was done by making an incision in a patient and doing whatever surgical procedure needed to be done. In twenty three years that has advanced to the point that it's unusual now to have to do open surgery. One of the other parts about practicing here is you have an entire group of people mostly UVA employed that are very directed towards providing the best care we can for patients.
