I really like Dr. Tate, but everything he just kept saying to me was that I need a referral for something else. Every issue that I brought up to him was that I need a referral. I'm not sure what the point of coming to a primary care doctor is if I want him to help me with issues like weight control, ADHD, issues that you're supposed to be able to bring to a doctor and get discussed and handled while you're there, but all I received was referrals for everything that I went in there for. I feel like I wasted my morning going in just to be shuttle to a different place. It was very discouraging.
Dr. Tate is a very special doctor and person. It is obvious that he cares about his patients. He is thorough, thoughtful and patient. He is always knowledgeable about health matters and about options for treatment of health problems. He is practical as well. Dr. Tate is the doctor that all doctors should aspire to be. I feel so lucky to have found him.
Experience was very pleasing
Dr. Tate was warm, disarming, professional, and genuine. I felt seen, and not just heard but actively listened to. It was my first visit with him, I am very grateful for his care and I am proud to have him as a physician colleague at UVA.
Dr. Tate very quickly understood the details of my chronic condition and helped me understand my options for conservative treatment. He reviewed my recent tests and scans and discussed them with me briefly. He suggested a treatment plan that I agreed to follow and a six month follow up appointment. His expertise in orthopedics was a great benefit to me during the appointment. He also listened patiently to my concerns and had a kind demeanor.
It was my first time seeing Dr Tate. I was impressed by his thoroughness, professionalism, kindness, concern, and attentiveness. His listening skills were outstanding
