Alexander King, AG-PCNP, is an adult gerontology primary care nurse practitioner. He cares for neurology patients with movement disorders, including Parkinson’s disease, tremors, progressive supranuclear palsy, ataxia, and multiple systems atrophy.
“What inspired me to become a nurse practitioner is the opportunity to help people live their best lives,” he says. “I approach all my patients as partners in their care, prioritizing shared decision making and focusing on what matters most to them to achieve the best possible outcomes.”
King grew up in Atlanta. He began his healthcare career as an occupational therapy assistant, which led him to earn his nursing degree at Emory University. He worked as a critical care nurse for two years before earning his nurse practitioner degree with a specialization in internal medicine and geriatrics at Emory. He completed a nurse practitioner fellowship in adult neurology at UVA Health.
He is an avid tennis player, golfer, and runner.
