A certified acute care pediatric nurse practitioner, Amanda Hendrix, AC-PNP, has been a pediatric ICU nurse for almost 8 years. She specializes in working with neurosurgical patients.
Amanda has always loved working with children and their families. She considers them important partners in healthcare decisions.
“It is important to involve both the patient and their parents in the appointment,” Amanda says. “You have to make not only the patient feel comfortable, but also make the parents feel like they are a vital part of the experience. I look forward to building long-term relationships with patients and their families and following them through their neurosurgical journey.”
A native of Ashburn, Va., Amanda loved playing sports growing up. She was a softball player during her undergraduate years at the University of Mary Washington.
Outside of work, Amanda enjoys supporting UVA sports and cheering on the Washington Nationals with her husband and their two sons.
