Highlights
Meet Anshu Gupta, MD
Hi, my name is Anshu Gupta. I'm a pediatric endocrinologist at UVA Health. I see lots of different kinds of children who may have hormonal imbalances such as thyroid, diabetes, problems with puberty, problems with excessive problems of pituitary issues, bone disorders, and so on. New patients can expect me to greet them with a smile and to know that I am there for them and for their child, and I will listen to their concerns and try in my best capacity to help address them. As a pediatrician, I believe a child is not in isolation, but they exist within a family. So any discussions about diagnosis or treatment I make are always in the context of the family, and it is very important to me that as children get older, that their decisions, their wishes, are respected equally, if not more than their parents. I think UVA is a great place, where we not only have the world's expertise, but also a compassionate team that really cares about the child and the family. How much the people care about a child and their family is what, the reason I would say, people should come to UVA for.
