Ava G. Chappell, MD, is a board-certified hand and microvascular plastic surgeon. Her reconstructive specialties include peripheral nerve, spasticity, wrist fractures, and complex head to toe wound reconstruction. She also treats neuropathic pain, body contouring, and lymphedema.
“I treat every patient as the unique individual that they are, not just a symptom or a diagnosis,” she says. “Since I was a child, I knew I wanted to be a healer. My purpose is to care for others and as a surgeon, I can directly improve the quality of life of my patients.”
Dr. Chappell was raised in New England. She received her undergraduate degree from McGill University in Montreal and earned her medical degree from the University of Massachusetts. She completed a plastic surgery residency at Northwestern University and a hand surgery fellowship at the Mayo Clinic.
