Brittany P Dooley, PA

Brittany Cochran is a physician assistant (PA) who provides neurocritical care at UVA. She cares for neurology and neurosurgery patients in the Nerancy Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit (NNICU) and Neurological Intermediate Care Unit (NIMU).

She graduated in 2019 from the Radford University Carilion PA program (formerly Jefferson College of Health Sciences). Becoming a PA is a second career for Brittany. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics from Radford University and completed her dietetic internship at UVA Health. She completed a master of science degree from Virginia Tech in nutrition and spent 13 years at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital working as a clinical dietitian. She also spent 4 years teaching medical nutrition therapy to both graduate and undergraduate students at Virginia Tech.

She is a life member of Christiansburg Rescue, where she volunteers as an EMT-Intermediate. She also loves to travel and her destination list is growing much faster than she is checking things off. Family and faith are incredibly important to her and she wouldn’t be who she is today without them.
