Bio & Overview

Cameron Grimes, DPT, is a neurologic clinical specialist. This is a physical therapist who evaluates and treats people with injuries or conditions involving the brain, spinal cord, or nervous system.

She especially enjoys helping people who’ve had a stroke or brain injury. She also works with patients at the Multiple Sclerosis Clinic.

“It's important for patients to have goals that are related to their interests and can improve their quality of life,” she shares. “Building confidence is a big part of my treatment. I love pushing patients past their limits and showing them they can reach goals they didn't know they could reach.”

Cameron grew up in rural Pennsylvania and attended Waynesburg University, where she studied biology and played college softball. She also participated in mission trips. In Jamaica, she worked at an orphanage for disabled children. And in Puerto Rico, she set up a church camp for local teens.

Because of her experiences as an athlete, she originally planned to focus on sports-related physical therapy. But after working with neurologic patients in graduate school, she changed her focus. She earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy from Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania and completed her neurological clinical residency at the Medical University of South Carolina.

She earned a neurologic specialist certification from the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties.

When she’s not working, Cameron enjoys training for half marathons, reading, and spending time outdoors with her spouse and dog.
