Carol A Boersma, MD
Pediatrics
Bio & Overview
Carol Boersma, MD, is a UVA Health Children’s physician whose specialties include caring for children with complex medical conditions, optimizing parental well-being, and physician coaching.
Dr. Boersma has worked as a general pediatrician in the Charlottesville community for 20 years. She received her medical degree and completed her pediatric residency at the University of Virginia. In addition to being a pediatrician, Dr. Boersma is also a certified life and health and wellness coach.
“I knew from a young age that I wanted to work with children,” she says. “I always felt energized by their spark, honesty, and resilience. At the same time, I was fascinated with the miracle of the human body and all of its intricacies. I wanted to have a career that also prioritized interpersonal relationships, and practicing medicine was the perfect way to combine it all!”
In her free time, she enjoys hanging out with her husband and three boys, walking her two rescue pups, being outdoors, cooking, baking treats, and watching soccer.
