Catherine M Wied, FNP
Internal Medicine
Bio & Overview
Catherine Wied, FNP, is a family nurse practitioner who focuses on preventive health, treating and preventing obesity, and treating chronic conditions like high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol, and asthma.
Her research interests include the impact of bias in healthcare, particularly racial bias.
“I want patients to know that I will listen to them and not judge,” she says. “I consider it an honor and privilege to provide care to my patients. They are like extended family, and I genuinely care about their lives.”
Wied was raised by her grandparents. Her grandfather was a career solider in the U.S. Army and her grandmother was a teacher’s assistant. Wied was fortunate to live in Germany during her formative years and Japan as a young adult.
Wied knew she wanted to be a nurse when she was a young girl. She worked alongside nurse practitioners as a registered nurse and realized that she could have a greater impact on her patients by becoming a nurse practitioner. She is excited to serve her community.
