Highlights
Meet Plastic Surgeon Christopher Campbell, MD
Hello, my name is Chris Campbell and I am a plastic surgeon and director of microsurgery within the department of plastic surgery, maxillofacial and oral health at UVA Health. Well, I chose plastic surgery based on the people that I met when I was going through my education. I had a lot of very enthusiastic plastic surgeons around me who had a research basis. They were trying to improve clinical care and at an early age I was able to see how research can change the way we take care of patients, improve their recovery and improve their outcomes. So new patients when they come to see us can expect to really meet a group of clinicians that want to get to know them. I take care of a variety of clinical problems from cancer reconstruction to cosmetic surgery for the body as well as body contouring after massive weight loss. And so each of these patient groups have varying needs. We really want to know the best way to return your form and function, get patients back to feeling confident with their everyday lives and so really having tailored care where we get to know the individual is critical. I believe a patient should come to UVA Health because this medical center exemplifies the best combination of a strong academic center where we have qualified physicians with excellent track records of research, all devoted to improving patient care. But we're also nestled in a small town where you can get the family feel of a very intimate small clinical practice.
