Bio & Overview
Cullen Carter, MD, is a general surgeon who specializes in abdominal surgery including hernia repair, gallbladder surgery, weight loss surgery, and hiatal/paraesophageal hernia repair. He has advanced training in minimally invasive surgery and robotic surgery. He completed general surgery training at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, MA in 2014 as well as fellowship training at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, NC in 2015. He joined the UVA faculty in 2023.
Outside of work, Dr. Carter enjoys spending time with his family, working on landscaping projects, and cycling.
