Highlights
Meet Urologist David Pfeffer, MD
Hi, my name is David Pfeffer. I'm a urologist with UVA Health. I particularly like to do vasectomies. I take care of stone patients, kidney stone patients. We take care of patients with malignancies of the urinary tract and male reproductive system. Well, my favorite part of my job is surgery. I have a very good staff in the operating room that I work with. And I know that when the patient is done with the surgery, they'll be in a better place than they were beforehand. So a visit to a new physician can be sometimes very anxiety provoking. We try to allay the patients fears when they come into the office, we will need to collect some certain basic information like medical histories. I tailor the physical exam and the interview to what exactly their problem or their perceived problem is. In general, urology, if I can help people and take care of a problem that they have, that makes me happy because they're happy. And that's the ultimate goal is having a happy patient. Going to a UVA Health physician and facility makes sense because we have a lot of great physicians in the system that we can refer to easily through the system and we have the ability for very specialized care to take care of those patients in Charlottesville, also through an easy to use referral system for physicians.
