Bio & Overview
Keegan Stombaugh, MD, is a cardiothoracic and critical care anesthesiologist. He specializes in caring for people who need a heart, vascular, or thoracic procedure. He is also an intensivist in the post-cardiac surgery intensive care unit.
“I enjoy the challenge of taking care of medically complex patients with cardiac, vascular, and lung disease,” he says. “I also enjoy training the next generation of physicians.”
Dr. Stombaugh was born and raised in Tucson, Arizona, where he was a competitive swimmer and attended the University of Arizona.
He attended medical school at Creighton University, where he met his wife, Sarah, who is an obesity medicine physician. Dr. Stombaugh completed his anesthesiology residency and fellowships in critical care medicine and adult cardiothoracic anesthesiology at the University of Chicago.
He enjoys spending time with his wife and three children, along with strength training.
