Dawn M Haasnoot, NP
Women's Health
Bio & Overview
Dawn Haasnoot, NP, is a nurse practitioner who specializes in obstetrics and gynecology, including reproductive medicine, family planning, and birth control.
“I want to make sure each patient feels heard and that their concerns are addressed,” she says. “I will take the extra 10–15 minutes with the patient to ensure are their questions and concerns are addressed. I went into women's health because many women feel unheard or their concerns are brushed off and not taken seriously.”
Haasnoot was born and raised in Fairfax and studied kinesiology at James Madison University.
She then received her undergraduate degree in nursing from George Mason University. After practicing as a nurse for many years, she earned her master’s in nursing leadership and management from Western Governors University. She then spent 10 years in nursing leadership roles before earning a women’s health nurse practitioner post master’s certificate and returning to full-time patient care.
When she’s not working, she supports her son at his high school basketball games and enjoys going to the gym. She also recently started line dancing.
